What Is This?

This is a QR Code. If you haven’t seen one already, you will begin to see them pop up everywhere. If you’re not yet familiar with QR codes, they’re similar to the barcodes used by retailers to track inventory and price products at the point of sale. The key difference between the two is the amount of data they can hold or share. A QR Code is simply a bridge to a website that when scanned with a mobile device takes a consumer on a journey beyond the paper it is printed on.
The QR code reader app which we use on our iPhones is i-nigma, which claims to be the most widely used reader in the world. It accommodates virtually any type of camera phone. For the android, you can also try Barcode Scanner. If you already own the popular price-checking app Red Laser, they’ve recently adapted their technology to accommodate QR code reading.
We have recently added QR Codes to our marketing campaigns. Our signs include a QR code which leads the potential buyer to detailed listing information. Photos, Visual Tours, pricing and listing details appear on possible purchasers’ mobile devices right from the front lawn. After they have scanned the code they can take that information away with them.
Our high traffic window boards now feature the codes, turning a piece of paper in a window into a dynamic interactive experience. You will also find codes on our Feature Sheets, business cards and bench ads.
Grab your smart phone, download one of the many free QR Code reader apps, and scan the code above. Once you know what they are and how to use them, you will start seeing them everywhere.
