We love it when potential clients do their homework and interview a few agents before buying or selling their next home!

There are so many options when it comes to choosing your next REALTOR® that we hope you would want to choose the right one. Consider this; before you spend thousands of dollars on your next real estate purchase or sale of one of your largest assets wouldn’t you want to interview a couple of REALTORS® before making that decision.

If you’re happy with flipping a coin when it comes to picking your next real estate agent by all means but here’s a couple things to think about if you are not that kind of person.

How long have you been in the business? A great question to ask; the longer the better right? Sure, extended length in the business is great as long as that it doesn’t mean stuck in the Old School way of doing business and not keeping up with the industry standard. Experience is excellent as long as there is a continuous progression in Real Estate Marketing, Knowledge and Customer Experience.

What is your List to Sell Ratio? A track record is good to have and good to know! It means your REALTOR® knows their business, we aren’t even talking about the list to sell ratio in a general neighbourhood that you are considering buying in, we are talking about the agents list to sell ratio. Are the agents you are interviewing taking on listings and not getting them sold? It’s one thing to take on a Listing and it’s another to actually get them sold. Make sure you ask the question and be specific. Sure there is going to be a percentage of homes that don’t sell that have individual circumstance as to why but if the track record fits with what you would expect, then perfect.
