ShelterBox Langley Youth Campout 2012
are super excited to be Organizing Langley's First ShelterBox Youth Campout raising money for SelterBox Canada and are teaming up with the local youth to make it all happen.
It was Saturday. A "do nothin’" kind of Saturday. The house was empty. My folks had gone into Vancouver. My older brother was off doing something; he was always doing something either at university or some crazy extreme sport. Nothing extreme ever happens in my life. The most dangerous thing I ever faced was trying to get the hard plastic bubble pack off my new ear buds. Carrie had asked me to go by bus with her to the Fort; it wasn’t important why she was going, it was just something to do to eat up a nothin’ kind of day.
While Carrie went down one isle of the grocery store, I sauntered down another. Pickles. All kinds of pickles: dill pickles, garlic pickles, bread and butter, sweet, pickled peppers. I don’t think I ever paid any attention to pickles before. Why would I even want to pay attention to pickles, I thought; when BANG. "What the ...!" it sounded like a truck had hit the store. Maximum Number of 10 tents for this years Campout. Each tent will sleep ten people; minimum of 1 leader and a maximum of 9 youth.
A minimum $1000.00 must be raised per team to qualify for the event. A 100% of the money raised will go directly ShelterBox Canada for disaster aid.
Funds may be raised at the Youth Teams Discretion ei: pledges, car washes etc...
Pledge Forms will be provded to each team leader once registered for the event. Pledges made over $20 will receive a tax receipt. ShelterBox Canada is a registered charity in Canada (#84628 3208 RR0001).
